Citation Activity

Citing use to consist of going to the library, looking up a book that might contain the information you need, finding the book and then obtaining the information from that book and citing what you used. But with all the new technology and the wonderful internet we are saved from having to go through that hassle to cite and give credit to someone’s information we use in our research.
There are many different websites you can use to cite information such as Citation Machine, Easybib and SourceAid Citation Builder. They all have the same objective; to help you correctly cite information you have used. But they all function slightly different and the site you enjoy most will come down to your own opinion. My favorite site to use of the three was Easybib because it has helpful tips that pop up for every fill in that is required and made the process much easier. I also like it because there is an autocite bar where you could type in something you wanted to cite and if it is popular it will generate an already made cite for you. I found Citation Machine and Source Aid very hard to follow and understand what information needed to go where. Both of these websites are simpler but I personally think it makes them harder to use because they do not have any helpful tips on what information needs to be going where. All three websites do make citing easier than what it used to be so which one you use just comes down to your personal preference.
